日本科学未来館にて高校生?大学生等を対象とした双方向交流イベントを開催
Interactive Event for High School and University Students at National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation
ムーンショット型研究開発事業目標5のプログラムディレクターとして未来の食と農に関する問題の共有と、その具体的な解決に向けた方針を高校生?大学生等と共有するイベントを開催しました。食料の供給は多大な化石燃料消費を伴い、世界の農林水産業から直接排出される温室効果ガスは全体の25％以上を占めると見積もられています。また、食料供給システム全体を含めると35％以上にも及びます。これは人類が食を手にするために、地球に大きな負荷をかけ続けていることになります。ムーンショット目標5ではこのような深刻な状況からの脱却を目指し、様々な技術開発や事業化が進められており、この活用内容や将来展望につき、次世代を担う方々と問題意識を共有することができました。
As program director of the Moonshot-type R&D Project Goal 5, I held an event to share with high school and university students and others the issues related to food and agriculture in the future and policies for concrete solutions to these issues. The food supply entails a huge consumption of fossil fuels, and it is estimated that the direct greenhouse gas emissions from the world's agriculture, forestry, and fisheries industries account for more than 25% of the total emissions. If the entire food supply system is included, it accounts for more than 35%. This means that humanity continues to place a huge burden on the earth in order to obtain food. Under Moonshot Goal 5, various technologies are being developed and commercialized in order to break free from this serious situation, and we were able to share our awareness of the issues with the next generation regarding the details of their utilization and future prospects.
